Project Overview
Following a detailed evaluation, Bethell Construction engaged Trenchless Solutions Limited (TSL) to
carry out a trenchless crossing at Hoyles Lane, Preston. The project was required to facilitate the
installation of sewer infrastructure beneath both a railway line and a canal, necessitating a no-dig
approach to avoid significant surface disruption and environmental impact.
Description of Works
After a detailed evaluation TSL was engaged by Bethell Construction to supply and install DN600
GRP jacking pipe using a guided auger bore method. The project involved the installation of 52
metres of DN600 pipe beneath Parkinson Lane Railway Line and a further 62 metres under
Lancaster Canal. Precise engineering and trenchless expertise ensured a successful installation,
minimizing surface disruption while achieving seamless connections to the existing infrastructure.
