Project Overview
Trenchless Solutions Limited was contracted to install a new section of gravity sewer using
trenchless techniques beneath the B6320 in Bellingham, Hexham, Northumberland. The project
required exceptional installation accuracy to accommodate DN400 vitrified clay jacking pipes under
sensitive ground and access conditions. The site was within a residential area with restricted
surface access, making open-cut excavation unviable. A trenchless approach using our
PERFORATOR GmbH Guided Auger Boring system was selected to minimise disruption and ensure
precise alignment.
Description of Works
Working on behalf of Northumbrian Water Group (via main contractor Mott MacDonald
Bentley), Trenchless Solutions Limited completed the installation of 42 linear metres of DN400
Naylor Denlok vitrified clay pipe using a 3-pass guided thrust boring technique.
