Morrison Utilities Services approached The Trenchless Group a couple of months ago looking for new innovative trenchless equipment for the installation of small diameter pipes 25mm up to 180mm. At that time Trenchless Sales UK had just agreed the UK and Ireland dealership with the manufacturer of the EasyDrill.
The FD10G Mini Horizontal Directional Drilling rig owned by Trenchless Solutions was set up at our Barnsley Depot and a demo and presentation was made to project managers from Morrison’s, after seeing the simplicity, power and speed of the small FD10G rig the managers from Morrison’s were keen to put the equipment to work on sites around Yorkshire.
A site in Goldthorpe, South Yorkshire was selected where the installation of a 100m of 90mm water pipe down a carriageway was required, Morrison Utilities Services prepared the site, excavated the launch and reception pits. Trenchless Solutions arrived on site with the equipment; both companies worked well together and completed the two drives within the two days allocated for the works, with minimal disruption to resident’s, minimal reinstatement to the carriageway and cost effectiveness overall it had to be a win win end to the project.
